I have been part of Swing City since my first “burn” in 2018 and during the burn in 2019 I decided to do small photo project and take a portrait shots of its temporary inhabitants. In case you don’t understand what I’m writing about it, don’t worry and I’m happy to explain that. Swing City is a camp at Burning Man and has been build and deconstructed about 10 times. This camp is also referred to as the House of the Monkey Lords, as all the camp members of Swing City all are monkeys, which like to climb and play, and that’s exactly what we are doing at Burning Man. We build a huge rig and put some rings in there to swing, play, climb, or just hang out in the shades it is providing. In addition you will find some toys (hammocks, hoops, silks, etc.) for acrobats and non-acrobats to play with. And this is our gift to the playa and its community.
